(The No-Music Version!)
I removed the music due to breaking some dA rules with copyright music.
At first, I wanted to replace it with royalty-free music, but nothing seemed to sound right.
But then again, some people wanted to turn off the music anyway...
And nope, nothing else has changed. Still the same version 1.14.

The With-Music version can be found at Newgrounds: [link]

v1.14
*Full-View to play the game.*
This is a fighting game based off of the story and characters of PPGD.
If you haven't read Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi (PPGD), read now! --> [link]
If you're wondering who Bell is... read now! *points to link on previous line*
(Even if you hate the original Powerpuff Girls, give Bleedman's Doujinshi a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.)

Critque Encouraged:
Yeah, this time I'm looking for some more feedback beyond the typical "Hey, good stuff!". I want to know what's bad about it, what's good about it, and what you would've liked to see in it. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, that's okay too.

Info:
Ah yes, a medium to test yet another game engine. I wanted it to have a half-decent combo system.
The controls and gameplay may seem a bit strange for a fighting game.. I guess I was feeling experimental.
It shouldn't be too hard to get a hang of, but it may take time to master some techniques.
The AI should be 'slightly' more interesting than the one in Etherena Beta..
just in the fact that it doesn't chase you indefinitely and sometimes tries to attack from a distance.
The story.. well, it's based on the doujinshi, but I had to twist a little just because well, some of these things never happened in the original story.. (Don't hurt me please. )

Controls:
Please pay attention to the controls on the loading screen. They are changeable while on the loading screen or from the Options menu.
To select your character on the selection screen, you need to hit your attack button! (By default, use 'F' or 'G')
There is a "How-to-Play" in the main menu that you can use for reference on the play mechanics.

Secrets:
There are a few unlockables. If you can't figure out how to get them, there's some hints... [link]

Found a bug?
Then please let me know. I like fixing bugs.

Things I'm Aware Of (that you may or may not notice):
1. the character pics on the character selection screen are outside of the boxes
-> just my personal aesthetic preference
2. the combos use the keys F and G, not A and B
-> A and B stand for 'Attack A' and 'Attack B'
3. the powerpuff girls change uniform between different attacks
-> my use of incoherent sprites (did not feel motivated to edit them all, praying you don't notice)
4. How do I beat Zim?!
-> He's vulnerable to a certain laser attack..
5. WHY CAN'T I SELECT MY CHARACTER??!
-> try hitting 'F' or 'G' (your default attack buttons)
-> in some rare cases, your computer might be using different key codes. if that is the case, try re-configuring the controls in the options.
6. How do you pause?
-> Hit the ENTER key!
7. The characters are walking into invisible walls?!
-> Actually, I figured out why this happens now, through lots of hardcore testing. Apparently, Flash's hitTest() function acts fairly unpredictable when you scroll/zoom in and out. Still working on the best possible fix for this.

I know you wanted more feedback than "Hey, this is good!" But I'm afraid that's all you'll get out of me. It's pretty addictive and rather professional, and generally very awesome. And hard, but that's just because I stink at every video game ever. So, um, yeah. That's, uh, that's it. I love it. <3

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor

It's cool. The only drawbacks I saw were that the special moves seemed kinda unpredictable. A certain combination of keys seemed to do one thing for me, then when I tried it again, nothing would happen and I'd get a big smack in the face. That could just be me thinking that I was catching on... when in reality... I wasn't.

The other thing is the combo system. Kind of a pet-peeve of mine... combos in games almost always consist of the game itself performing the combo when you press the right key combination(s). One of my favorite fighting games has always been Street Fighter Alpha 2. You had to basically make the combos up using the moves at hand. Granted, some of the specials did more than one hit on their own, but it was never, "Okay, I pushed X, Y, then Z, now I get to stand by while my character performs X number of hits." You could drop out of the combo at any point you chose, and the beginning, middle, and end were all up to you.

Other than that, seems like a solid engine. I'm thinking of creating a Flash fighter of my own for my next personal project...

You dare challange me?! I love Zim! He is so crazzy. I wish I could have played as him though

Other then that Everythng was awesome!

Nice little Kameamea with buttercup! lol

Well, I did like this after playing a bit.

My concerns though... it's the attacks and some other things.

-> I realize that it's possibly to keep an "infinite combo" from occuring... but why is it you can only hit a character up into the air twice? For example, I played as the RRBs, and I do a combo to knock the enemy up into the air, do the special with the green one, knock them into the air again, special again... then I can't hit them.

-> It's somewhat difficult to hit with the laser... but I suspect that's a balancing thing as well.

-> Playing as Dexter is somewhat... easy. You are able to hit far away people with his sword by just thowing it. As an added bonus, it knocks the enemy away. But... I can imagine if there is a two player mode (if there isn't... I didn't know x.x) then Dexter is sort of unbalanced for a character once you get to a point where you can continue to throw the sword at the enemy when they are "pinned" against the wall.

-> I thought there was something... odd... about the Power Puff girls in here. It's like: The RRBs have series of moves that just match up. Dexter already has the powerful range attack and some combos to pull. Yet, the girls... I don't know if it's just me, or if I can't find a good combo to pull off in order to do alot of damange like the other characters. D: It probably is just a preference... but, yeah.

I do have another question: When will you be coming out with another Etherena game? I do realise these all take alot of time... but I'm curious. I think that Etherena Beta and this PPGs game rock as flash fighting games. :D
:iconxaisu:
Hooly. Thats fun. XD Great job putting it together.

As for crits... Well, I kinda had a hard time selecting my character at first. But thats probably because I didnt read the directions. XD Also, when I was setting the controls, I had to hold down the key for a few seconds before it changed. So yeah. -No real crits-
:iconakarui-siren:
lol... I love to use bell... I dunno why but she seemed alike to someone XD
